About Us

The Academy for European Integration is a Skopje based think tank established in 2023, focused on training on EU affairs, research of the European integration process, as well as support of the europeanization of the Western Balkans. The challenges arising from the process of EU enlargement require appropriate expertise in numerous areas, which can significantly improve the capacity of the country to fulfill the membership criteria. The AEI aims to provide training for government officials, administration employees, BA, MA and PhD students, civil society and media representatives, thus strengthening the human capital necessary for the transformation of the society.

 

Our team of experts includes academics from universities in EU member states, current and former EU officials, judges in national and European courts, government officials, and other lecturers specialized in all areas if European law, economics and politics, representing a unique educational opportunity in the country and the region.

 

In the regional context, it will contribute to closer integration of the Western Balkans countries, as part of their joint efforts for applying EU standards in the society, especially in the areas of rule of law, fight against corruption, as well as administration reform - areas identified as crucial for the enlargement negotiations.

 

Public opinion research, campaigns on EU values, conferences, round tables, as well as publications on different EU topics are also part of the AEI activities, as our contribution to the overall efforts to increase the public support for European integration in the region, among different social target groups. 

 

The following fields of study are part of the AEI curriculum: European and international law, Comparative law, European institutions, Fundamental and human rights, Digitalisation, Globalization, Public law, EU Policies, Administration law, Law and Mediation, Public procurement, Legal Ethics, Organizational and Management Skills, Constitutional and administrative law, Criminal Law, Civil Law, Business strategy, Law and politics in the international context, Controlling, Risk & Finance, Project Management, Leadership Skills, Business Analytics.

 

Partnership with European and local universities, schools, NGOs, local governments, and companies will serve as a platform for bringing the benefits of EU membership closer to the citizens, and preparing the future integration of the society in the European family.
